Hidden Cliff

Major inspiration for me, apart from Grady Frederick's brilliant concept, was THE game No Rest For The Wicked. I fell in love with the style and vibe of that game from the first touch. Lights and shadows, blooms and winds, the ambience is really magical and unique. I tried to capture the same feeling. Lightning is something I'm trying to improve in my work, and it's a main character that plays a major role in the scene. I was tired of making one-shot environments, so I decided to extend this one a bit. Imagining what could be behind the curtains is quite challenging, but rewarding. It gives you an opportunity for a personal touch and boosts your artistic creativity. To improve the storytelling, I also placed a few props designed by my good friend and artist Ginebra Hinojosa. The majority of the textures were done using Substance Painter and ZBrush as the main toolset, utilizing custom smart materials and handpainting. Special thanks to all the artists on Discord, who took the time to give their valuable feedback. It's always priceless. I made this project in about 5 weeks in my spare time, savoring every moment. It has been an incredible journey.
